Price Calculation
Cost is based on the units of protein synthesized. A unit is 100 mg of a protein containing 100 amino acids. The cost of one unit of synthetic protein is US$20,000*. Typically these are a fraction of the cost of other commercial syntheses.
Psyche sells at least 100mg of protein containing up to 150 amino acids. Please request a quote for smaller amounts of material.
100 amino acids X 1 unit (100 mg) = $20,000
For example: 100 mg of insulin, which contains 58 amino acids, is 0.58 units. Conversely, one unit of insulin is 172 mg of protein (100/0.58). See price grid below:

Terms
- Please call (512.637.6053), fax (617-344-0513) or email to request a quote on any sequence.
- Psyche requires a 25% deposit to begin synthesis. We accept payment in $US by purchase order, check, bank transfer or credit card.
- At the customer's request, data from a synthesis is deposited daily in a specially encoded file attached to Psyche's website. The customer is given an access code and may monitor the progress of their synthesis through the company website.
- Once delivered, the customer has 10 business days to accept or reject the product. If accepted the customer should complete payment within 20 business days. If rejected Psyche will keep the 25% deposit but no further payment is due. For rejection Psyche requires completion of a brief form showing why the synthesis did not meet company goals.
